Fall Mini Sessions

I can’t believe it’s already the beginning of September! The holidays will be here before we know it, and that means it’s time to start thinking about family portraits. Photos make great gifts for parents and grandparents and are great to put on your Christmas cards. I know it may seem a little early to be thinking about this, but trust me with the time it takes to process your sessions and the turn-around time from the lab, the latest I can enter orders and get them back to you in time for mailing to your friends and family is the end of the second week of November. And if you get your family portraits out of the way now, it’ll be just one less thing you’ll have to worry about come the holiday season.

In lieu of the upcoming holiday season I’m announcing my Fall Mini-Photo Sessions!

Dates:

Saturday, September 25th
Sunday, September 26th
Saturday, October 9th
Sunday, October 10th

Location: The Woodlands/Spring area (Specific location TBA)

Cost: $75 Due to a limited amount of space, payment will be due upon booking.

How does a mini session differ from a full session?

Full sessions last anywhere from 60-90 minutes and take place at a location of your choice. Mini sessions are conducted at a specific location and are 30 minutes in length.

Back in May I held this contest which Brittnay won. Well Brittnay finally got to cash in on that this past weekend. She decided to get some photos done of her and her friends. These girls all go to Sam Houston and were awesome company to spend the afternoon with. We started a little later than we had originally planned, but I think we still managed to get some great shots!

Lindsay- Galveston

You may remember my friend Lindsay from here. Well I had the great pleasure of working with her again last weekend when we spent an afternoon in Galveston taking more photos. I love working with Lindsay because she makes my job SO easy! If I wanted to, I could just tell Lindsay where I wanted her to stand and say “I dunno…do something” and she would pose completely on her own! I never experiment with new things or ideas on a client shoot, but I knew Lindsay wouldn’t mind if I wanted to try something new. She was super patient!

Don’t forget to be on the lookout for Lindsay at the Texans game this weekend!

We started out near The Strand.

I’m not sure what it is about these next few (the color, location, expressions), but they are some of my favorites from the session. I just love the feel of them…fun and lighthearted.

I think I snapped this next one right after I told Lindsay to act like it’s a perfectly normal thing to do to sit on top of this. Nothing weird about it at all, right?

Then we headed down to the seawall where this magic happened.

Seriously, I was loving the light that day.

I could have shot here all day, or at least for another thirty minutes or so. We wanted to, but beach patrol came by and ran us off which was super lame if you ask me. We’re not ones for arguing so we left. I’ll leave you with this last one.

Lindsay, thanks for being AWESOME! I hope you find at least a few that you fell in love with!

Jordan

Jordan and I have known each other since (I think) Jr. High and continued to go to school together throughout high school. Then I went off to Tech, she went and did her thing and we hadn’t really spoken much except for the occasional message here and there on facebook.

That is until about a month ago when Jordan contacted me about taking some photos of her. She recently graduated from Sam Houston, just started a brand new job and is just excited about starting this new chapter of her life. I, of course, was excited about documenting this time in her life by taking some photos for her. We met up at Hermann Park and this is just a little bit of what we got that day.

Jordan, it was awesome catching up with you and good luck with your new job! I wish you nothing but the best!

Lindsay

Lindsay and I went to high school together, and we hadn’t really seen each other since. Until one day she found me on facebook. This girl is SUPER talented. Not only was she great in front of my camera, but she was also on ABDC and is on the Houston Texans dance squad. Lindsay saw some of my work on facebook and contacted me about shooting some head shots for the Texans upcoming tryouts. I happily jumped at the chance. And hello, who wouldn’t? This girl is gorgeous!

A few weeks before the shoot we started discussing location options. I asked Lindsay if she wanted anything particular for her photos. She told me she loved the warm, soft, vintage look. Once she told me that, my mind took off, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do for her. If you follow me on facebook or twitter you may have seen my pleas to borrow an old looking couch a week or so ago. Well, I didn’t find a couch, but we made do with what we had, and I think they turned out fabulous!

Hellooooo, warm sun! I think this one is gorgeous!

Lindsay was such a trooper! When I asked if she wouldn’t mind laying down in the middle of this field, she didn’t’ even hesitate!

Lindsay, I had an awesome time catching up and getting these shots. I’m so happy what you were picturing and I what I was envisioning were one of the same! You were such a gem to work with! Thanks for trusting me to capture what you wanted!
