Christmas is by far my favorite holidays. I love love LOVE all of my childhood memories of Christmastime. I think some of it has to do with the fact that everything seems so BIG when you’re a child. Our tree always seemed huge, the smell of baking from my mom’s kitchen shouted “welcome” when we would come through the door and our house was always decorated like crazy. Or at least it seemed that way. Again, probably because I was viewing things through my childhood eyes. Regardless, I always loved Christmas. And I still do. I love it because it reminds me of those feelings I had as a kid. Everything seemed so magical, and I loved when the extended family would get together, my mom’s family on Christmas eve and my Dad’s side of the family on Christmas day. It was glorious.
Even though I’m a few states away from that extended family these days, I’m thankful to be spending this Christmas with the family that I do have in close proximity. I’m so thankful and consider myself lucky to be spending this holiday with my mom and dad.
And Harley, too.
Warm wishes to you and your family this holiday season from me and Harley!
(I did Christmas cards this year for the first time, and this was the front of our card this year.)
